About Chord Transposer
Chord Transposer is a free, browser-based tool for changing the key of a chord chart. It was built to solve a small but constant frustration for musicians: moving a song into a singable or playable key without hand-editing every chord and losing the alignment in the process.
The tool runs entirely on your device. When you paste a chart, the transposing happens in JavaScript in your browser — nothing is uploaded, logged, or stored on a server. That means it works offline once loaded and keeps your material private.
This site is maintained by Marcio, an independent builder of small, single-purpose web tools. The goal is simple, reliable utilities that do one job well and respect your privacy. If you have found a bug or have a feature you would like to see, the contact page tells you how to get in touch.
For background on the method behind the tool, see the guide to transposing chords and the comparison of semitones, keys and capos.
